A. (5): "Mom, is god lying in bed right now?"
K.: "..."
D. (4): "God also has to sleep from time to time."

D. (4): "God is transparent."
A. (5): "No, he´s not. You just can´t see him. Only if you are a fairy or an angel or a ghost you can see him. "
D. (4): "And if god dies? Will he fall down on earth? Isn´t he in heaven right now?"
K.: "I think he is everywhere."
D. (4): "And where was he in the beginning?"
A. (5): "Which beginning?"
D. (4): "Where was he before the earth and the humans were made?"
A. (5): "In India?"
D. (4): "But not in Afrika!"
A. (5): "Maybe on a tree..."
D. (4): "Or on a cloud?"

Beim Frühstück:

A. (5): "Liegt der Gott gerade im Bett, Mama?"
K.: "Hmmm ..."
D. (4): "Gott muss doch auch mal schlafen."

D. (4): "Gott ist durchsichtig."
A. (5): "Nee. Man kann ihn nur nicht sehen. Nur wenn man eine Fee oder ein Engel oder ein Gespenst ist kann man ihn sehen. "
D. (4): "Und wenn Gott stirbt... Fällt er dann auf die Erde runter? Er ist doch jetzt im Himmel."
K. (5): "Ich glaub der ist überall."
D. (4): "Und wo war er am Anfang?"
A. (5): "An welchem Anfang?"
D. (4): "Wo war Gott bevor die Erde und die Menschen gemacht wurden?"
A. (5): "In Indien?"
D. (4): "Aber nicht in Afrika."
A. (5): "Vielleicht auf einem Baum..."
D. (4): "Oder auf einer Wolke?"

Dennis, The Menace And Sex Education / Dennis, The Menace Und Sexuelle Aufklärung

A few days ago the kids watched the movie "Dennis, the menace". Some days later during breakfast:

D. (4): "First god only made the parents. Then they went to the doctor and he put the babies into the stomach. Through the belly button. I saw that in a film. You were absolutely wrong, mom!"

My sex education just can´t win against Dennis´ wisdom. ;)

Beim Frühstück (einige Tage nachdem sich die Kinder den Film "Dennis, the menace" angeschaut haben):

D. (4): "Erst mal hat Gott nur die Eltern gemacht. Die sind dann zum Doktor und der hat dann die Babies in den Bauch gesteckt. Durch den Bauchnabel. Das habe ich im Film gesehen. Du hast gar nicht recht, Mama."

(Tststs.... Da nützt meine ganze Aufklärung nichts. "Dennis, the Menace" ist einfach glaubwürdiger. ;) )

My kids keep saying wonderful things to me. So I have decided to start a new blog just for these quotes. Enjoy!

David is doing nonsense. After scolding him for that, I ask him what he wants to say to his defense.
D. (almost 4 years old) sulking: "I don´t always want to have the last word!"

Immer wieder erzählen mir meine Kinder die tollsten Dinge. Ich werde die besten Zitate hier im Blog posten.

David macht Blödsinn und ich schimpfe ihn. Ich frage ihn, was er zu seiner Verteidigung zu sagen hat.
D. (fast 4 Jahre alt) schmollend: "Ich möchte nicht immer das letzte Wort haben."
